FAQs:

What can counselling help with?

Counselling can help with a variety of issues. If you are recently bereaved, suffering from anxiety issues, depression, relationship issues,  issues from childhood, or low self-confidence, then counselling may be of benefit.

How do the sessions work with Coronavirus?

I am undertaking sessions either face to face, with appropriate precautions, over the telephone, or via video call.  This will be based on your preference, which we can discuss in the consultation session.

How long is a session?

A session lasts fifty minutes.  They are normally weekly and at the same time wherever possible, though this can be discussed after the consultation session.

What hours do you run sessions during?

I schedule sessions on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings. Please contact me for my current availability.

How does the counselling process work?

Firstly we would arrange an initial telephone assessment to see if we are the right fit.  If you think you would like to continue we will then agree an initial number of sessions, usually between 6-12.

Who do you work with?

I work with adults and young people age 16 and over.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you can contact me by email more than 48 hours in advance to let me know that you cannot attend a session, no fee will be charged.

What type of therapy do you provide?

I am a humanistic Gestalt therapist, which means that my focus is on helping you to become your true self. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques into my counselling, wherever I think it can be helpful.

Is the content of our sessions confidential?

Yes it is, I will never disclose anything we disucuss during our sessions. However, there are exceptions in certain circumstances, but I will discuss the details of this with you during the consultation session.
